During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 12, which requires schools to get annual parental consent before providing routine physical or mental health services. This includes things like first aid, short-term counseling, or vision and hearing screenings.
Why does my registration say I am not 100% complete now?
The new SB12 consent form has been added and is a required document in order to be 100% registered.
What are "routine" school-based health services addressed by SB 12?

Per Texas Senate Bill 12 (SB 12), parental consent is required for schools to conduct health screenings. This fall, our campus nurses will conduct Hearing, Spinal, Acanthosis Nigricans, and Vision (when appropriate, a vision photo screener may be used), screenings per DSHS guidelines:

How do I give or deny consent?
Login to Parent Portal and complete registration. If your registration box is not 100% or green, you will need to click on the box to complete the necessary forms.
If I deny consent, what happens in an emergency?
In a serious emergency, staff will still act to protect your child’s safety and will contact you immediately.
Can I revoke my consent or denial later?
Yes. You can revoke or provide consent at any time in writing to your campus office.
Will my child's health information be kept private?
Yes. All health records are protected under state and federal privacy laws.
